Photo-capturing at DTSP


Smart card photo capturing has move to DTSP for new 1st semester students. Starting from last Friday I and my friends had to work untill wee hours to print their new smart cards. Picture here was some action in the last day of photocapturing session.

Overtime: student smart card registration weeks

Now currently I have to monitor smartcard photocapturing and smartcard printing. Due to these two tasks, I have to take Overtime and didn't have enough sleep for days. You can read more story about this from my friend @ superior Here are some list of overtime that I had done past few days.
  • Saturday, July 17. Till 3:00am, over 1000 cards was printed
  • Sunday, July 18. Till 6:30am, over 400 cards printed
  • Tuesday, July 19. Till 5:00am, over 1200 cards printed

Qaisy & Laila

Qaisy & Laila wallpaperAmy (One of my new online friend) in her blog tells that she and Dilla, her newly met friend was 'jalan-jalan' Kuala Lumpur and went to the movies, they'd watched the movie with lots of emotion. Because of her blog, then I check the Qaisy & Laila website and watching the movie trailer (Windows Media Player). From the trailer, it seems that this movie have some quality in it. I haven't watch the movie yet, but I will some day(thanks to Amy's blog that moves me, and Qaisy & Laila website). Ah, It almost 2.00 a.m. I must be in bed as soon as possible. I believe tomorrow will be one long, hard, tiring and tense day.

Camera is out

My DC battery cover has broken... I have sent the camera to camera shop to claim my warranty. So for now there won't be any picture blog. The camera shop towkay said that I will be waiting for the camera at least for a month before I can receive it back. THere will be lot's of events that my camera will be missing

Graduate Student & Card Registration Day 1

pictureToday I was assigned to help Institute of Graduate Studies' Student Registration. The registration has various steps that involving great deals of digital technology equipments. Students has to register their ID and their selected academic courses online, and then on spot photo capturing for their card.

It was a very busy day for me, supporting staff from my department, and all of Institute of Graduate Studies' staff. I do believe that staffs in the Bursary, academic schools and Department of Security also have give their commitment so that student registration go smoothly.

Well, this story is far from over yet as I has been scheduled to give support untill end of this month.

KUALA LUMPUR: Loya dan menjijikkan! Itulah ungkapan pegawai Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri dan Hal Ehwal Pengguna (KPDNHEP) dan Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (Jakim) ketika memeriksa sebuah kilang bihun dan laksa berlogo halal, bersebelahan kandang babi.

Pemeriksaan bersama kakitangan Kementerian Kesihatan mendapati kilang diKampung Selamat, Tasik Gelugor, Pulau Pinang itu dan kandang yang menempatkan berpuluh ekor babi hanya dipisahkan dengan kepingan zink .

Keadaan berkenaan menyebabkan bau najis binatang ternakan itu meresap masuk ke kilang terbabit yang membekalkan bahan makanan untuk diedarkan di seluruh negara dan dikatakan digemari pengguna Islam.

Sumber berkata, kilang yang dimiliki seorang pengusaha bukan Islam itu diserbu tengah hari semalam, selepas pihak berkuasa menerima aduan orang ramai. Operasi bersepadu itu disertai pegawai KPDNHEP, Jakim dan Kementerian Kesihatan.

Menurutnya, dalam serbuan jam 12 tengah hari itu, pegawai penguat kuasa mendapati kilang berkenaan tidak hanya berkeadaan kotor, malah tidak diselia mengikut amalan pengilangan.

“Pemilik kilang sewenang-wenang menggunakan logo halal Jakim pada bungkusan bihun dan mi laksa tanpa kelulusan jabatan berkenaan. Perbuatan ini amat mengejutkan kerana produk bihun dan laksa terbabit begitu terkenal di kalangan pengguna Islam termasuk di Lembah Klang.

“Penemuan ini amat memeranjatkan, malah menimbulkan tanda tanya sama ada produk terbabit sah dimakan berikutan kedudukan tempat pemprosesan yang hanya terletak di sebalik kepingan zink daripada kandang babi,” katanya.

Difahamkan, Jakim hanya mengeluarkan logo halal berkenaan kepada sebuah kilang di Kuala Ketil, yang mengeluarkan produk sama.

Sumber itu berkata, pihaknya sedang menyiasat kaitan operasi kilang diserbu itu dengan satu lagi kilang di Kedah yang mengeluarkan produk sama.

“Walaupun proses pengilangan bahan makanan terbabit tidak membabitkan sumber haram, ia masih boleh menimbulkan keraguan dan rasa was-was berikutan kedudukannya terlalu hampir dengan ladang babi,” katanya.

Malah, pegawai kesihatan yang turut sama dalam operasi itu menghalang kilang terbabit daripada meneruskan operasi sehingga jabatan itu berpuas hati dengan tahap kebersihan dan kaedah pengendalian bahan mentah.

“Ini berikutan keadaan lantainya yang kotor, kaedah pemakaian seragam pekerja tidak teratur serta penemuan bahan makanan siap diproses di atas lantai,” katanya.

Menurutnya, siasatan awal turut mendapati, ladang ternakan babi itu dibina terlebih dahulu sebelum kilang bihun dan mi laksa berkenaan dibuka beberapa tahun lalu.

Selain bakal dikenakan tindakan kerana beroperasi dalam keadaan kotor, pengusaha kilang terbabit boleh didakwa mengikut Akta Perihal Dagangan 1972, berikutan tindakannya menggunakan logo halal tanpa kebenaran Jakim.

Dalam kejadian November tahun lalu, sebuah syarikat pengeluar pelbagai produk mi milik pengusaha bukan Islam disyaki menggunakan sejenis minyak mengandungi lemak babi untuk menghasilkan kuetiau lembut sebelum dijual menggunakan logo halal palsu kepada pengguna Islam di sekitar Lembah Klang.

Lebih memeranjatkan apabila kuetiau terbabit kemudian dibungkus menggunakan plastik biru yang tertera logo halal palsu dikeluarkan ‘Bahagian Hal Ehwal Islam Malaysia’ sebelum diedarkan kepada pengguna Islam melalui pasar basah sekitar Kuala Lumpur.

Kilang mi terbabit yang beroperasi di Kepong didakwa masih berdegil menggunakan logo halal palsu Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (Jakim) itu walaupun sudah diberi amaran keras sebelum ini.

Siasatan mendapati sejenis minyak khas mengandungi unsur lemak babi kerap digunakan untuk menstabilkan lemak (emulsifier) khusus untuk menghasilkan kuetiau lembut dan halus.

1st Sabtu cuti, and Saturday traffic jam

It's Saturday morning, but today, there are traffic jam here. Parents from all over parts of Malaysia are flocking here in USM to send their decendants here. I hope that all these will be Mahasiswa/i will graduates and make their parents proud. Some of friends today are in "On Call" position so that technical problems can be solve as soon as possible.

PENANG: Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM)has been selected as one of only seven Regional Centres of Expertise (RCE) on Education for Sustainable Development by the United Nations University.

The network of RCEs is responsible for educating and empowering people of all ages to assume responsibility for creating a sustainable future.

Apart from RCE Penang, the others that were launched simultaneously on June 29, at the UN University based in Tokyo, included RCE Greater Sendai Area (Japan), RCE Okayama (Japan), RCE Toronto, RCE for the Pacific Islands countries, RCE Rhine-Meuse region (border of Germany and Netherlands) and RCE Barcelona.


Tahniah! USM for this achievement. Makes me want to work better
